Portable Appliance Testing Engineer - Hull based

3 months fixed term, possibly leading to permanent. Up to 37 hours per week, £10.91 per hour plus expenses. 37 hours per week, or part time subject to agreement.

We are currently looking for a full-time OR part-time PAT Testing Engineer to work from our base in HULL, East Yorkshire.

You will be visiting our customer's premises and checking their electrical equipment to ensure its safety. You’ll be entering the results into a tablet (iPad or similar) and completing all the necessary documentation. Some of our work is in offices but we also test in factories, construction sites, schools and many others. No two days will be the same!

Full training will be provided and we will also provide all the equipment you will need to do the job. You will need a driving licence, and ideally your own car. We’ll provide you with a mileage allowance in the first instance, but we’ll look at providing a company vehicle if the role becomes permanent.

We already have one full-time engineer and a small team of freelance engineers and sub-contractors. At the moment we have more work than we have engineers for, so you’ll be busy from the start, although you’ll receive plenty of training and work with another engineer in the first instance.

You’ll be on a flexi-time scheme and may need to work outside of normal office hours (early starts or late night) in order to provide the best service for our customers. Ideally we’ll find someone who can work full time (37 hours per week over 5 days) but we will consider you if you would like to work part time (eg 2 or 3 days per week)

We have VERY high standards for our PAT Testing work and would prefer to employ someone who has not done this work before so we can train you to carry out the job to the highest specifications. If you have experience of PAT Testing with another company then please feel free to get in touch, but please note that we do NOT incentivise our engineers on numbers, but we will always be looking for quality, not quantity!
