PAT Testing & Portable Appliance Testing Training Sheffield, South Yorkshire

At PAT Testing Expert, we've been involved in the field of Portable Appliance Testing for more than 30 years, and our trainer, Tim James, has been teaching people to carry out PAT Testing since the early 1990's. If you need training in PAT Testing, we can teach you! Tim James is regarded as one of the UK's leading experts in the field, as well as 30+ years experience in the industry, he's also Standards Director of PATTA and was on the IET committee that recently update the Code of Practice.

We run regular dates at Sheffield - usually about 4 dates per year.

Certificated Training and Hands-on Practical

The PAT Testing training course is certificated, and we provide all of the materials and equipment for the course. However, if you have already purchased a PAT tester you are welcome to bring it with with you - we'll show you how to get the best from it. Otherwise we'll give you unbiased information about the best machines to buy! At the end of the day you'll be able to carry out PAT Testing in your own premises, or even offer a PAT Testing Service to your customers. We can even help you if you are thinking of setting up a PAT Testing Business!

We will provide you with all of the information you need to get started, including information on the best equipment to use and loads of valuable hints and tips to save you time. If you have more than 5 people to train, you may find it cheaper to organise an in-house course (at your premises) or we can arrange a special date for you at this hotel, or another nearby. Contact us for more information.

PAT Testing is mainly about common sense, and you do not need loads of prior knowledge to get started you certainly DON'T need to be a qualified electrician to carry out PAT Testing. In fact, all you need is a willingness to learn, and some common sense.

This is a course with lots of hands-on practical - there is no 'test' as such on the day, but a lot of opportunity to do it for real - learn about PAT Testing and then put into practice what you've learned straight away. We firmly believe in keeping things simple - of course there is stuff you need to know, and we'll tell you all of that, but mostly this is about common sense and putting into practice what you learn on the day. You'll be competent to carry out PAT Testing by the end of the course!
